Is it just me?

Or does anyone else listen to Delilah (107.9 Lite FM) and when she asks you things like "Do you have joy in your life?" or "Is there stress in your life?" does anyone else answer her? Belle and I were listening to her on the way home from Meridian the other day. Christmas songs are on Lite 108 now and Belle was wanting to listen (me too just a smidge). Delilah always asks these sorts of questions and callers call in and share a bit of their joy or stress or about someone they love or a hardship. I started answering her questions. Out loud. This took me back to a time several years ago....

Now, for some reason the entire time I was pregnant and a short time after, the only music I could tolerate was the "lite" kind they play on Lite 108. One night after Belle was born, I was in the tub, soaking, thinking, and listening to Delilah. Then I started answering her, out loud. A few seconds later I hear Shem bust up laughing on the other side of the shower curtain. He had heard me talking, to Delilah, and came to see what I was doing. We both got a good laugh out of it. And I was sure to start locking the bathroom door so my "me" time wasn't interrupted.
Kind of a random post, but I felt like sharing.

So. . . do you answer the questions on the radio or tv?

Happy Halloween Part II

This year for halloween, I had Belle for Trick or Treating and then she was going to go back to her dad's. Vince and Randi were having a halloween party and we decided we'd dress up for it, too. We invited my pal Jesika and her husband (and Tren's pal) Tom to go with us. After we took kids trick or treating, it was our turn to get all dressed up.

Jesika is pregnant, so she was a black pregnant cat. She didnt show up very well in the pictures because she was so black.

(those are bottle nipples on her shirt, to show she is a pregnant cat!)

Tom was a pirate. He looked great and even had a sword! Arggghh!!

There is a show on TV called Dog the Bounty Hunter. Dog is one tough dude. He has a mullet and wears leather vests or button-up shirts unbuttoned half way down to show off the goods. It is a "great" show.

Dog in all his glory:

Dog has a lovely wife. Her name is Beth. She is obnoxiously loud and dresses the same way. She is the hottest thing since sliced bread.

Beth:

This picture just doesnt do her justice.

Tren and I dressed as them for Halloween:

We got many great comments and looks and stares. It was hilarious! I nearly peed myself getting ready. Each thing I put on made it funnier and funnier. I dont know what we'll do next year.

Happy Halloween!!

I wanted to put a picture of everything Belle has been for halloween so far, but wasnt able to find her 0 year (leopard). Her 1 year (black cat) is on a print and not in the computer, and without a scanner (and brain to remember to take it to my mom's to have scanned) that one won't make it either.

2 year: Witch - perhaps a Harley riding witch with a leather skirt like that!

3 year: Princess

4 year: TinkerBell (Yes, Clint. I stole this from your blog last year.)

This year for Halloween, Belle dressed as a witch. The plan was to make her a black and purple tutu and then add some sequins to a black leotard. Throw on a witches had and BAM! A nice little witch. Well, not so much. When we went to the fabric store for tulle, we came out with dark purple satin-ish material and black lace. Oh boy. I didnt have a pattern so I just sort of winged it. Not a good idea. I didnt think about the fact that if I sewed the material right on to the elastic waste band, it wouldnt be flexible. So. Belle would have to wriggle into her skirt. The leotard came out just as planned. Belle made the design and I put on the sequins. Belle loved her skirt regardless of the putting on and taking off fight it provided. She wanted a wig. At first she wanted a little red headed bob. Not too witchy, so I talked her out of it and into the long blonde one. I think she looked great. And it was such a relief to see her as something other than a princess or fairy.
